Update HOLD PLUS messages on PHONE PLUS hardware system

Let’s be sure you have the 2021 HOLD PLUS messages
      1. First, create a new folder on your desktop and title it HOLD PLUS 2021.
      2. Next, download your 2021 HOLD PLUS audio files by clicking here
      3. Start by printing the “2021 HOLD PLUS list” you find in this folder to read the text from each audio file.
      4. Select all the audio files (by pressing ctrl and A) and press Download and navigate to save them to your desktop.
      5. The audio files will download to your desktop in a zip folder.
      6. Open the zip folder and select all the files.
      7. Drag them to your new HOLD PLUS folder for easy access through the year
Now log into your PHONE PLUS system with the console from your computer desktop
      1. Confirm the PHONE PLUS network cable (ethernet cable) is plugged into the LAN port on your PHONE PLUS system.
        *** If you currently have a white TP-Link switch connected to your LAN port, plug your PHONE PLUS network cable into that switch instead of the LAN port 
      2. The other end of the PHONE PLUS network cable should be plugged into your computer.  You may be using a ethernet to USB converter (White J5 create adapter) on this end of the cable.
      3. Double click on the PHONE PLUS icon  (console) on your desktop
      4. The IP address should be   172.16.10.252   and the password should be   admin
      5. Press CONNECT to log in
If you get a JAVA error
      1. Open the control panel window on your computer and double click on the JAVA icon
      2. Click on the JAVA tab at the top of the JAVA window and then click VIEW
      3. There may be more than one line of text in this view.  In the ‘PRODUCT’ column, identify the version with the highest number. (example 1.8.0_186   or   1.8.0_191 – we’ll use the row with 191).  
      4. Copy the text that appears in the ‘PATH’ field of this row and paste that text into a Notepad or WORD doc.  (example of this text is C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_186\bin\javaw.exe)  
      5. In your WORD or Notepad document add QUOTATION MARKS around the initial text and then add this text   -version:1.8 -jar usergui.jar    The full line of text should look similar to this
        “C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_186\bin\javaw.exe”  -version:1.8 -jar usergui.jar
      6. Leave this text in the document for use in step 8 below
      7. Right click on the PHONE PLUS CONSOLE shortcut on your desktop and select PROPERTIES from the menu
      8. Click on the SHORTCUT tab and locate the TARGET field.  Delete the text in that field and replace it with the text from your Word or Notepad document.
      9. Click APPLY and then OK to close that window and your JAVA program is now updated
Upload and activate new HOLD PLUS messages
      1. Quick note before we begin – DO NOT EVER press DELETE ALL
      2. Once you press CONNECT to log in, you’ll see inactive HOLD PLUS files in the LEFT window and active HOLD PLUS files in the RIGHT window.  (NOTE that your MAIN greeting message is also in the LEFT window – DO NOT delete this message)
      3. To upload new HOLD PLUS message files, simply click on UPLOAD and navigate to your 2021 HOLD PLUS folder, double click on the correct dated folder and double click the message file you want to add.  Repeat this procedure for each message you want to add.
      4. Uploaded files will be added to the LEFT window (the inactive files)
      5. To activate a message to play on hold, simply click on the message file in the LEFT window and press the >> arrows in the middle of both windows to move that message to the RIGHT window (the active files).  You can also remove files from the RIGHT window by clicking the file and pressing the << arrows to move it to the LEFT window (the inactive files)
      6. If you want to delete old or unused files from the LEFT window (inactive files) simply click the file and press DELETE.  (VERY IMPORTANT – DO NOT – DO NOT – DO NOT press DELETE ALL as this will also delete your MAIN greeting message which is also stored in the LEFT window. 
      7. Once you have activated the HOLD PLUS messages you want playing, press on the LOGIN tab at the top of the window and press DISCONNECT.
Upload and activate a new MAIN greeting
      1. If you’ve ordered a new MAIN greeting or the HOLIDAY greeting package, your MAIN greeting files will be emailed to you.  We suggest you keep these MAIN greeting files in a folder within your HOLD PLUS folder on your desktop. 
      2. To upload new MAIN greeting message files, simply click on UPLOAD and navigate to your new MAIN greeting file and double click it to load it.  Repeat this procedure for each MAIN greeting you want to add.
      3. Uploaded files will be added to the LEFT window (the inactive files)
      4. To activate a new MAIN greeting, in the lower right corner of your PHONE PLUS system window you’ll find a drop down where you can select a new MAIN greeting from those in the LEFT window.
      5. Once you have selected the MAIN greeting you want playing, press on the LOGIN tab at the top of the window and press DISCONNECT.
